Record-Breaking Night

2.13.2026 - Brown delivered a career night, pouring in 45 points, setting a new ACC freshman single-game scoring record, surpassing the previous mark of 42 held by Cooper Flagg. His scoring explosion also tied the Louisville single-game scoring record originally set by Hall of Famer Wes Unseld on December 1, 1967.

Athlete of the Year

1.6.2026 - Mikel Brown Jr. brought home an illustrious award today (Jan. 6), when he was named the 2025 USA Basketball 5-on-5 Male Athlete of the Year, one of the highest individual honors awarded by USA Basketball. The award caps off a remarkable year of international success and continued excellence at the collegiate level.

Preseason All-ACC

10.24.2025 - Class of 2025 graduate Mikel Brown Jr. was named to the Preseason All-ACC First Team, an extraordinary honor for a freshman who has yet to play his first collegiate game.

The announcement comes as part of the 2025 ACC Preseason Poll, where Brown Jr.’s Louisville Cardinals were ranked second overall, receiving 15 first-place votes.

Brown, a 5-star point guard and former standout at DME Academy, was ranked No. 5 on the national list. He joins a group of elite recruits that includes Darryn Peterson, AJ Dybantsa, Cameron Boozer, and Darius Acuff Jr.
