DME Girls suited up Saturday afternoon against The Rock School in their first SIAA home game of the season. DME dominated The Rock from the second quarter on, finishing 79-26.
DME got off to a slow start and led 13-6 after the first quarter. DME came out strong in the second quarter outscoring The Rock 17-4 in the quarter and never looked back,
Alexis Duckett got off to a hot start scoring 10 of her 16 points in the first half. Duckett added 7 rebounds and 3 assists and 4 steals.
Kyani Moore, who had foul trouble in the first half, ended with a double-double of 16 points and 15 rebounds. Brianna Raynor also had a double-double, despite foul trouble as well, with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Sophomores Hilani Cantone and Mary McMillan picked up where they left off from their Washington DC trip. Hilani Cantone had 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists and McMillan had 6 points to go with 11 assists.
DME added to their roster after Christmas break with the addition of sophomore Marissa Reulbach from Deland, Florida. In her debut, Reulbach had 12 points all in the second half.
DME moved 8-4 on the season, and remain undefeated at home as well as in conference play.
They host a talented Oak Ridge High School, January 11th, before leaving for Montgomery, Alabama for Martin Luther King Weekend.
