DME Girls defended their home court Thursday night against Oak Ridge from Orlando, FL 64-48.
Three Division 1 head coaches were in the gym to watch prospects from both sides.
Sophomore Mary McMillan and junior guard Alexis Duckett stole the show. McMillan had 12 points, 15 rebounds, and 7 assists. Duckett finished with a team-high of 18 points and 5 steals, on 8-12 shooting.
McMillan earned herself a scholarship after the game from Jacksonville University with head coach Yolett McCuin on hand to check out the action.
DME opened the game out on an 8-0 run and never looked back. Hilani Cantone continued her strong play by scoring 10 points, her 4th consecutive game of scoring in double figures.
Kyani Moore and Brianna Raynor both had 8 points in limited playing time because of foul trouble. Tyla Happer returned to action, and the senior guard had a strong performance, pitching in 8 points.
DME moved to 9-4 in the season, 4-0 at home, and head to Montgomery, AL for Martin Luther King Weekend, where they will play two very good teams, Dillard High School out of Fort Lauderdale and Carolina Prep out of Chapel Hill, NC.
