Daytona Beach, Fla. – Yan Diomandé and the Ivory Coast national team are moving on to the quarterfinals after a commanding 3–0 victory over Burkina Faso in the Africa Cup of Nations Round of 16.
Diomandé found the scoresheet in the 32nd minute, netting Ivory Coast’s second goal as the Elephants controlled the match from start to finish and secured their place in the quarterfinals.
Ivory Coast will now face Egypt in the AFCON quarterfinals on January 10, with a semifinal berth on the line.
