Alum Joachim Kyei’s Overtime Stunner Clinches Southeast District Title for Daytona State

Daytona Beach, Fla. – DME Academy alum Joachim Kyei delivered a moment of brilliance to help the Daytona State College Falcons clinch the 2025 NJCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Southeast District Championship and secure a spot in the NJCAA National Championship Tournament.

The Falcons defeated USC-Lancaster 2–1 in an intense match that went into double overtime. Kyei, a former DME Academy star, produced the decisive moment of the night, unleashing a stunning strike from 25 yards out to seal the championship for Daytona State and punch their ticket to the national stage.

Since graduating from DME Academy, Kyei has continued to impress at the collegiate level, earning recognition for his creativity, technical ability, and composure under pressure. His championship-winning goal underscores not only his growth as a player but also the caliber of talent being developed at DME.
