From 2022-24, Diomandé was a phenom at DME Academy, and it was clear from the beginning that he possessed the potential to reach the top levels of the game.
But even for the most optimistic, Yan's journey has been nothing short of spectacular.
Born in Abidjan, Diomandé trained at DME Academy from 2022 to 2024 before moving to Spanish LaLiga side CD Leganés in 2025. His performances there led to a transfer to RB Leipzig, where he has already made a number of Bundesliga appearances and scored his first professional goal.

His standout performance came on Matchday 13, when Diomandé delivered one of the season’s most electric individual displays, scoring a sensational hat-trick in a 6–0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.
12.5.2025 - The final draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup was held in Washington, D.C., and DME alumnus Yan Diomandé officially learned that he and the Ivory Coast National Team have been drawn into Group E. The Elephants will face a diverse and competitive group that includes Curaçao, Ecuador, and Germany.
10.15.2025 - Yan made an unforgettable start to his international career, scoring in each of his first two matches for the Ivory Coast National Team and helping the Elephants secure qualification for their first FIFA World Cup since 2014.
10.3.2025 - Yan Diomandé earned his first call-up to the Ivory Coast Men’s National Soccer Team. The 18-year-old winger, now playing for RB Leipzig in Germany, was selected for the Elephants’ October camp and is eligible for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Seychelles (October 10) and Kenya (October 14).
7.17.2025 - Eighteen-year-old DME Academy soccer program alum Yan Diomande has signed with Bundesliga powerhouse RB Leipzig. The deal, finalized this week, follows Diomande’s impressive run with CD Leganés in Spain’s top division. The reported transfer fee is around €20 million, making him one of the most valuable transfers in Leganés history.
