Her passion lies in fostering the growth and potential of others, a commitment that aligns perfectly with DME Academy’s mission.
Coach Allen Carden brings 39 years of experience in teaching and coaching, with over 600 career wins and a history of guiding 100+ athletes to the college level. He holds a Master’s in Educational Leadership and has served in roles such as Head Coach, Athletic Director, and now Dean of Students and High School Basketball Coach at DME.
A devoted husband, father of four college athletes, and grandfather of seven, Coach Carden is passionate about mentoring youth. Outside of work, he enjoys golf, weightlifting, trail biking, and year-round coaching. He’s excited to help DME grow into an athletic and academic powerhouse.
Dave, a University of Central Florida alumnus, has over 15 years of experience teaching Science, English, and Social Studies at all levels, including AP and IB. Now serving as advising coordinator his strong student connections, thoughtful guidance, and dedication will help students find the best fit for their academic and athletic futures.
Brandie has 10+ years in education and 6+ years in Behavior Therapy and Special Education. A Florida native and DME baseball mom, she specializes in tailoring support for students with special needs, fostering a positive, nurturing learning environment.
April is an education administrator with over 20 years of experience in academic services and student support. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Supervision and Management, with a specialization in Project Management. Throughout her career, April has been deeply committed to helping students achieve their academic goals and thrive beyond the classroom.
As Director of Compliance and Database Administration, April provides essential operational support for all academic services. She oversees the management of institutional databases and compliance documentation, including accreditation, ensuring the effective delivery of programs that enhance student learning and promote academic success. In collaboration with faculty, staff, and administration, April leads initiatives focused on improving academic outcomes, supporting student retention, and maintaining a high standard of institutional excellence.
Gary serves as one of the History/Economics teachers and as HS Lead Teacher at DME. With 40+ years of experience in the teaching profession, Gary began working with young people in the mental health profession and shifted his focus to education where he served as a teacher, Dean of Students, and both Middle and High School Principals. As a teacher, Gary has taught Social Studies, Middle and High School History, and Economics for students from 5th grade through high school.
Born in Jacksonville, Florida, Dillon is a graduate of the University of Central Florida with a Bachelors in History. He has always loved history from a young age, studying everything he can to learn more about people and their cultures, from all over the world. Dillon teaches and focuses on United States history, but has also studied European, African, and Asian history, and has studied and taught U.S. Government and Economics.
Allison earned her B.A. in English & Secondary Education and M.Ed. in Exceptional Student Education from Stetson University. She has also earned her Reading and ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) endorsements. Allison is a nineteen-year veteran educator who strives to create an inviting atmosphere of mutual respect to foster student learning.
With over 20 years in education, Allyson is passionate about teaching, reading, and writing. She holds a B.A. in English & Communications from Hamline University and an M.Ed. in Administration & ESL from SMU. Dedicated to empowering students, she specializes in language acquisition, literacy, and helping learners build confidence in communication and self-expression.
Kellie is from West Palm Beach, Florida and has been teaching for over ten years in both private and public school. She graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Communication and Advertising, and a minor in Creative Writing. Kellie is passionate about creating a safe and inclusive learning environment for her students and helping them reach their full potential. Kellie has a daughter, Willow, and two sons, Wyatt and Sawyer, and a rescue pup named Sophie.
Dale, a seasoned science educator at DME Academy, brings 32 years of teaching expertise. Passionate about math and science, he excels in creating hands-on labs for students to apply theoretical concepts. Dale's academic journey includes a BS in Chemistry with minors in physics and mathematics, and an MA in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation from Adams State University. Certified in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics, he has also taught AP courses in Chemistry, Calculus, and Physics.
Coach D. Larmond brings over a decade of educational experience, beginning in South Florida as a STEM and magnet program innovator. Following his 2013 Amazon publication *HyperDrivenLife*, he became a leading voice in connecting sports, education, and entrepreneurship through youth-focused STEM initiatives.
A Hall of Fame NCAA athlete from Bethune-Cookman University, Coach D. now channels his passion into inspiring students from middle school to college. Known for his empowering campus mantra, “Who got the POWER?”—with students proudly responding, “I have the POWER!”—his mission is to prepare young people to thrive as global citizens.
Aaron is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University. He has been teaching for twenty-six years at the middle and high school levels. His favorite part of teaching math is seeing his students’ confidence increase as they grasp difficult concepts.
Elisabet earned her B.A. in Education from the University of Puerto Rico. A Puerto Rican native, Elisabet has worked in the Daytona Beach area as a teacher for 15+ years. She loves teaching and helping her students achieve their dreams and goals.
