DME Academy Sarasota Hires Wayne Ramsey To Lead Goalkeeper Training

Wayne Ramsey

Wayne Ramsey comes to DME Academy – Sarasota with an impressive background.  Ramsey is the current Head Coach for the ODA Varsity Girl’s Program and holds an Advanced National Diploma from NSCAA. Ramsey minded the net for The College of New Jersey from 1979-1982 and averaged less than a goal per game allowed. He was invited to play for the Tampa Bay Rowdies after college but an injury cut his career short.

“I am excited to work with DME and bring my experience, knowledge, and passion for teaching the art of goalkeeping to the goalkeepers in the Sarasota area. There is a lot of talent in this area and I think my experience will help them amplify their game,” says Mr. Ramsey.

At DME Academy – Sarasota, Wayne will run a unique goalie-specific training component for our club members. Athletes of specific ages will work with Wayne each week on skill development, footwork, angles, dynamic movement, and hand-eye coordination.

“Wayne was an introduction from a friend and we instantly hit it off. He knows his stuff, cares about the often overlooked goalies in our game, and wants to give back to the local community,” says Jared Antista Co-Founder of DME Academy -Sarasota.

Ramsey has held many coaching jobs over the years including the Head Coach for the NJ Stallions Professional Team, and most notably as a Division 1 Men’s Head Soccer Coach for Monmouth University, in N.J. Wayne also holds a Master’s Degree in Education and has spent years as an educator.
