Dear DME Parents,
I am excited to announce that DME Sports Academy is partnering with Xceed Preparatory Academy (www.xceedprep.org), to be our exclusive school and curriculum provider for our academy students beginning in August 2019. Xceed, based in South Florida, currently has three schools in Broward and Miami-Dade County and its unique educational beliefs and approach has it poised for significant growth.
The Xceed mission is designed to meet the unique needs of elite middle and high school athletes. The Xceed educational model provides personalization, online curriculum, flexible schedules and attentive in-person academic staff preparing students for college and beyond.
Xceed was started in 2017 and based on CEO Dr. Brent Goldman’s past as a pioneer in the development of distance and internet-based education and his desire to better perfect online learning. Xceed is accredited by AdvancEd which is the most prestigious accrediting agency for K-12 and post-secondary schools. The Xceed DME location will open fully accredited and is expected to be NCAA approved in the early fall 2019 and SEVIS approved (the ability to issue visas to international students) by early 2020.
Our new school will be located at Daytona Field House, home of DME Sports Academy, and we are busy sprucing up the new classroom space with new flooring and furniture. Students will no longer have to leave campus for classes! Xceed will hire a Head of School and subject certified teachers to work with our students. They will be trained by Xceed prior to the beginning of the school year and will work with the existing Xceed employees throughout the school year.
More specific details regarding our partnership with Xceed Preparatory Academy will be sent to you in the next few weeks. We believe the addition of Xceed to DME Sports Academy will transform our academy for many years to come.
Best Regards,
Dan Panaggio

NEW YORK, June 17 (Xinhua) — Sports skill training and cultural exchange opportunities offered by DME Sports Academy for talented students and young individuals from around the world have advanced people-to-people connection between China and the United States.
“We plan to do a great job to deliver meaningful education for kids. They get a chance to not just learn about Americans, but about kids from all over the world,” Mike Panaggio, co-founder and owner of DME Sports Academy (DMESA), told Xinhua in a recent interview at Daytona Beach, the east coastal county of Florida.
Established three years ago, DMESA offers top-level athletic development training and life skills mentoring to both U.S. domestic and overseas young talent. Panaggio expects some 60 to 75 kids joining in DMESA next year, including about one tenth from China.
One of his favorite exchange students was a 13-year-old Chinese boy, Chris Gao, who had lived with Panaggio and his Chinese wife, Jennifer, in their home. “He’s a straight A student, we were very proud of him. He’s like our son,” Panaggio recalled.
Panaggio inherited the passion for sports, basketball in particular, from his father, and combined his business talent with his love for what sports do for kids to pay back the community of Daytona Beach.
“Basketball in sports is a privilege for kids to play. Our job is to get them to college. And if they want to continue in the United States with additional degrees, we’re all for that and we promote them,” he said.
Panaggio believes that for kids from around the world to the academy, education here is not only about schoolwork and learning in the books. It’s about “learning how to speak the English language” and about “learning about other people,” he noted. “It’s just a great cultural exchange.
”
Being a sharp businessman, he went to China in late 1980s, realizing the potential of Chinese market. “I love China and I think that anyone I’ve met in China has always been great.
I like the people,” he said emotionally.
Despite the ongoing tensions between the United States and China in trade and some other sectors, Panaggio was “quite optimistic” about the prospects of the two countries” relationship. “At least we’re hoping there isn’t gonna be a problem. Because I think of Chinese students no different from that we think of American students. People are people,” he added.

Dear DME Family and Friends,
We wanted to write to you regarding some of the recent cheer related posts that appeared on social media. While we respect each person’s right to his or her opinion, we strongly disagree with the hurtful and inaccurate comments that were made about our Academy and the DME brand.
After trying to integrate a struggling local cheer team into our academy, we recently made the difficult decision to cancel the program. This decision was made after weighing what we believe was best for all parties involved. We wish all members of the cheer team nothing but the best as they move forward in their future endeavors.
As all of you are aware we have several successful programs within the DME family.
We truly wanted to make cheer a part of our ever-growing family.
DME Sports Academy will continue to build on our elite sports model that has attracted some the best coaching, players, and leadership from around the world. Our students, athletes, and staff represent each gender with open arms.
Our athletes have come to us from over ten countries and six continents.
We are truly a representation of the world.
Passionate owners Dan and Mike Panaggio will continue to invest in the Daytona Beach community through multiple business endeavors including DME Sports Academy.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
DME Sports Academy Management

We’re happy to see CEO Lance Blanks and his family are reportedly safe and out of harm’s way from the destruction of Hurricane Harvey.
In the nick of time, Lance and his older daughter, Riley, were able to evacuate Lance’s parents from the Southeast Region of Houston (in Clear Lake) to Austin, Texas. Younger daughter, Bryn, traveled to Texas with Direct Relief to cover the storm in an effort to gain support for victims of Hurricane Harvey. There is no telling how long Lance’s parents will be displaced from their homes, or what state their homes will be in when they return, but for now everyone is secure. Our thoughts go out to those that have been affected. <3 #HoustonStrong
