Daytona Beach, FL – DME Prep Orange Team Falls In Last Seconds To Action Sports Academy
Atlanta, GA Action Sports Academy came to DME Prep’s home court and pulled it out, 90-87, on Thursday midday.
DME Prep’s Maxime Egouy finished with 23 points, William Finnie finished with 20 points and Quan Byrd had 17 points.
DME Prep and ASA battled and stay close the whole first half, but DME Prep trailed behind ASA, 42-36, at the end of the first half.
After a tense first two minutes in the beginning of the second half, DME Prep shaved ASA lead down to 1 point, 44-43.
As they battled all game, DME Prep tied the game, 78-78, with 4 minutes left.
Coming down to the final seconds, DME Prep turned the ball over that gave ASA too much momentum to handle.
The game finished, 90-87, with DME Prep falling short to ASA.
DME Prep looks forward to next game on December 2, 2017, at Canterbury School.
On Wednesday night, DME Sports Academy’s High School Regional Team competed but fell short, 83-72, to Atlanta, Georgia Hoop Nation’s Prep Team.
Rafael Martini led the team with a double-double of 23 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Martini shot 8-10 from the field and 75% from the free throw line. Miguel Lozada had 19 points and 8 rebounds and Shem Gordon scored 15 points adding 5 rebounds.
With HS Regional front court keeping us in the game with a combined 57 points and 23 rebounds from Lozada, Martini, and Gordon, the team took a big hit in the beginning of the third quarter when Gordon went down with an apparent shoulder injury.
Without Gordon, Martini and Lozada helped HS Regional make a late run in the fourth quarter but they were not able to recover after Gordon’s takedown.
Closing with 72 points, it just wasn’t enough to Hoop Nation’s performance.
The HS Regional team will have to have a short memory as they try to bounce back Friday night against Gulliver Prep in Miami.

DME Post Grad teams White and Blue visited Montverde Academy Tuesday night to play two games. PG White won 91-48 whereas PG Blue lost 103-73.
DME PG White led from start to finish with outstanding play from Cam Wynter scoring 11 points. Wynter looked like the D1 guard that everyone has been projecting since arriving at DME with 11 assists and 5 rebounds.
Trey Williams led the team in scoring with 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals.
Terry Li also had a strong game with 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. Williams and Li played the wing spots flawlessly, defending and knocking down shot after shot off Wynter’s dimes.
After the Top 25 Post Grad player rankings came out today, DME’s PG White guards, despite missing the cut, showed well tonight in a dominant win.
DME PG White will prepare for their next game against Glove Prep this Saturday on December 2, 2017.
Despite PG White solid performance, DME PG Blue fell short in a tough 103-73 loss. The team fought hard to stay in the battle with a great performance from Langston Gaither carrying the team with 22 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists. Santiago Bruera trailed behind Gather with 18 points and 5 rebounds. With three key players having double figures, Tyrese Potoma added 13 points and 3 assists.
But with all of PG Blue efforts, it simply wasn’t enough and they await their chance to play this Montverde team later in the season.
PG Blue will look to bounce back this Saturday on December 2, 2017 against Glove Prep Academy.
DAYTONA BEACH, FL — On Tuesday night, DME Sports Academy’s High School National Team competed against local New Smyrna High School team, in an exciting match up.
DME traveled to the Barracuda’s home court for the first time.
Nate Adxox and Vadim Clanet lead the team in scoring 6 points each in the first half. DME Sports Academy was up 27-23 at halftime despite all starters in foul trouble.
After a tense first half DME HS grew a 10 point lead in the 3rd quarter which maintained through out the game. Assane Diouf had a strong second half with 16 pts, 8 rbs, and 8 blocks – almost a triple double! Nate finishes the game with 15 pts, and 5 out of 7 of the shots taken at half-time.
Final Score 59-50 with DME HS National Team taking the win.
The next game is Friday, November 24th at University School.

DME Sports Academy HS National Team and PG National Team each played three tough games this weekend, as part of their first of many national events. They traveled to Connecticut and took part in the Power Five Tip Off tournament along with Putnam Science which is ranked 4th in the country, Woodstock Academy ranked 5th, Redemption Christian, and Commonwealth Academy.
Post Grad Head Coach Wesam Al Sous said that the experience of playing three strong games in 3 days is essential and serves as a good foundation to build on for the next events. “We have to work on our offensive system and try to build chemistry. I am happy with the energy levels, we fought as a team.”
High School Head Coach Daniel Mondragon was happy with how his team handled the first two games, “We competed against high-level teams. We showed toughness and the win against Woodstock — we came back from an 11 pt deficit.”
However, there are valuable lessons to be drawn here, “The last game showed us that we need to learn how to win close games. We were up 9 pts with three minutes left in the game and we couldn’t close out, so we will be working on that in the next few weeks.”
DME GM of Basketball Nick Couluris stated that the trip was a good opportunity for DME Sports Academy to showcase their talent on a national scale, “The kids performed well on the court, and held their own against some of the best teams in the country.” When discussing the trip as a whole, Couluris said, “Our kids thoroughly enjoyed the experience. For some it was their first time on a plane. These kids were able to experience once in a lifetime things like our day trip to the basketball Hall of Fame.”
The next national event will take place in Memphis in less than a month.

Hurricane Harvey landed in Texas; recently displacing thousands, causing deaths, injuries, and massive damage to property and public works.

sports training company, is hosting its first Invitational Super Session. Top athletes from
across the country and Europe will meet in Florida for next level training and competitive
games, August 5th – 6th, 2017.
The Super Session acts as a culminating event, of coast to coast basketball camps, activated by
Director of Camps, Nick Couluris. The former Director of Five Star Basketball, Couluris spent
seven years developing basketball camps in over 40 locations across six continents. It’s safe to
say, Couluris has a keen eye for talent and a propensity for building relationships.
“The type of athletes that will be invited our Invitational Super Session are hungry. They are
resilient, doing whatever it takes to fine tune their skills in their “pursuit of excellence,” which
is what we’re all about at DME Sports Academy. The Super Session will include the best of the
best,” said Couluris.
DME Sports Academy pulled talent and hosted skill development camps in the areas of Los
Angeles, Dallas, New York City Tri State Area, and Florida. An invitation has been extended to
the top performers at each camp. It is projected that regional top 100 talents will be in
attendance, alongside numerous projected Division I Athletes. In addition, the London, UK
Showcase Elite Basketball team, will also be participating in the Super Session.
On Saturday, August 5th, DME Sports Academy is inviting the press for a Media Day in the large
studio from 11:30am – 12:30pm. The time will serve as an opportunity for 120 potential high
school varsity athletes to talk one on one with top media influencers in basketball.
Next, from 12:30pm – 1:30 pm, coaches will sit down for a Chalk Talk with DME Sports
Academy’s CEO Lance Blanks. Blanks, a 1990 1st round draft pick for the Detroit Pistons,
Director of Scouting for the San Antonio Spurs, Assistant GM for the Cleveland Cavaliers, and
GM for the Phoenix Suns, will speak candidly about the changing dynamics of high school
sports as it pertains to recruiting for college basketball.

The All-Star Cheer program is in its first month of opening. It has three new coaches and many new athletes as well as the new spring floor and tumbling equipment. All – Star Cheer athletes and interested participants are invited to attend weekend tumbling clinics every Saturday morning. Beginning July 15th, athletes will be able to participate in BHS, Tucks, and Layout/Full Clinics. On July 22nd, the next fundraiser for All – Star Cheer will be hosted at Giuseppe’s Pizza on Nova Road. An online popcorn fundraiser is projected to take place in August, as well.

July 7-9 Our Senior 4 and 4.2 teams will be traveling to Brandon All-Stars for skills camp. The camp will allow our girls to learn the latest skills and techniques from one of the best gyms in Florida! These skills will carry over into their routines that will be performed this season.

Athletes can come and work on their tumbling technique while also learning new skills! Cost is $25 per athlete, per clinic.
July 21-21: Coaches Training DME All-Star Cheer coaches will be traveling to Orlando, FL for a Regional meeting and training seminar. This event will allow DME’s cheer program to be the ONLY program in Volusia county with a fully certified USASF cheer staff!!
July 22nd: Car Wash Fundraiser Come support the DME All-Star Cheer program by getting your car washed at Guiseppe’s Pizza on Nova Road. All profits will benefit the all-star cheer program. We thank you all in advance for your help this season! We will be hosting the car wash from 10:30-3:00pm.
