The top four SIAA teams for girls and boys suited up in Daytona Beach, Florida for the SIAA Championship, hosted by DME Sports Academy. The girl teams in the tournament were West Oaks, DME, PottersHouse, and The Rock. The boy teams were DME HS National, Victory Rock, The Rock, and West Oaks.

The first day consisted of four semi-final games. First on the court were West Oaks Girls vs The Rock. The Rock trailed the whole game, finishing the first half 19-40. West Oaks came out the second half to seal the deal, finishing the game 64-41.

Next game, DME Girls suited up to defend their home court against PotterHouse.

By the end of the first half, DME created a 17 point lead to end the half 30-13.

DME came out with a point to prove for the second half, creating the lead to 33 points. DME finished the game with the score of 80-47.

The boys followed behind the girls playing, with West Oaks Boys and The Rock taking the court first. West Oaks played well the first half creating a lead of 6 points over The Rock, 34-28. The Rock came out the second half ready to play, taking the lead away from West Oaks on a 6-0 run in the last ten minutes of the game. The Rock finished on top 75-61.

Last game of the Final Four consisted of DME High School National vs. Victory Rock. Victory Rock led most of the game, finishing the first half 41-21. DME HS National came out the second half cutting the lead down to 4 points but didn’t have enough to retain it. Victory Rock finished on top 72-63.

On Saturday morning, all the teams gathered at the SIAA Banquet to look at all the accomplishments of the year.

Coach Michael Panaggio and Coach Dan Mondragon were named SIAA Coach of the Year. DME Girls Junior Alexis Duckett was named Player of the Year.

The SIAA Championship games started at 4:30 pm. West Oaks Girls and DME suited up to play for the trophy. With the score close the whole game, DME Girls trailed by four at the end of the first half 34-38. With the game coming down to the last three minutes, West Oaks closed out a win 63-55 over DME.

Next, Victory Rock took on The Rock School for the SIAA Boys championship. The Rock led the first half, finishing out 44-32. The Rock took home the SIAA trophy, concluding the game 73-59.

DME Sports Academy hosted the first Grind Session tournament this weekend in a Friday-Saturday run down with multiple teams from coast to coast in Florida.

The first game on Friday, Feb 9 tipped off at 3:00 pm against TSA and Glove Prep high school. Glove Prep closed out the game 79 – 66.

Next game, our very own Post Grad G National suited up for Central Point Academy. DME’s Charles Jones led that game in scoring with 17 points. Jeremiah Gillard finished with 11 points and Joshua Edwards added 10 to the board. PG National pulled out a win 86-72.

Following PG, DME High School National competed in the most anticipated game of the tournament – West Oaks Academy. Vadim Clanet led the team with 19 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 steals. Mame Niang added 17 points and 8 rebounds. Mayoum Mayoum scored 13 points and Deandre Harvey had 10 points. Keanu Calderon had a solid game all around with 6 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block.
Coming close to the end, HS National pulled out a win over West Oaks Academy 70-67.

Closing out the first day, DME Post Grad Elite played the last game against NTSI. Terry Li finished with 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Demetri Richardson added 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. Frank Mompoint had 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. DME Elite lost against NTSI 80-84.

The second day of Grind Session started at 1:30 PM with NTSI opening against Glove Prep. Fighting neck to neck during the game, Glove Prep trailed seven points 42-49 at the half. NTSI’s William Harrison finished with 15 points. For Glove Prep, Thibault Rio finishing with 15 points. NTSI closed out the tournament with a 1-1 record over the course of the weekend with a win over Glove Prep 88 – 84.

Second game was the first appearance of DME of the day. Off a good win from the day before, DME HS National looked forward to playing Central Pointe. HS National stated off strong, finishing halftime up eight points, 41-33.

Keano Calderon led the game with 17 points and Marko Vukojcic had 14 points and 3 rebounds. HS National closed out the tournament with an undefeated record with a win over Central 85-79.

Next game consisted of PG National taking on TSA Prep. TSA trailed PG National the whole game. Arminas Gras led the team with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Tyrese Potoma also had 12 points and 5 rebounds. Carl Ntifo added 8 points and 8 rebounds. PG National dominated over TSA 93 – 51.

Last game of the tournament closed out with West Oaks vs Rockledge going head to head. West Oaks took the lead quickly, finishing the half 48-38. For the start of the second half, Rockledge came back in the game, keeping the game close to 5 points.

Coming close to the end, Rockledge’s Donald Richardson Jr. hit a three-pointer from the wing to go up 79-76 with 20 seconds left. Rockledge pulled out a win over West Oaks 80-76. Donald Richardson finished with 18 points and Elijah Weaver scored 15 points. West Oak’s Tyrieke Blakeney had 17 points and Eric Amandio scored 16 points.

DME Girls travel ball is going into their third season.

After a big jump from year 1 to year 2, DME is now officially on a shoe company circuit by signing a contract to become an Adidas Gauntlet Program.

DME is the only girl’s AAU program that is on the Adidas circuit and only one of four teams in Florida that are affiliated with a shoe company circuit.

The program will be traveling to Atlantic City, New Jersey on April 20-22.

DME will visit Kansas City, Missouri July 10-12 before finishing with a trip to for the Adidas Gauntlet championship July 27-29.

DME returns some of the best prospects in the state of Florida from graduating years 2019-2022.
In the 2019 class, DME has two of the most intriguing wing prospects, Alexis Duckett and Jasmine Quarterman. As well as underrated power forward Kyani Moore.

In 2020, DME has Caleigh West and Kyana Johnson as two athletic young forwards with a lot of potential. Kyana Johnson leads the nation in rebounding for high school basketball with 24 rebounds per game. In 2021, DME has on of the best young bigs in 6’2 Dream Eason. who is very skilled and shows much promise.

The 2022 class, is shaping up to become a talented group headlined by the #10 ranked incoming freshman in the country with Addison Potts and pure point guard, Katie Ambrose.

The program is still young and on the up and coming but with players coming from all over the state of Florida. The word is getting out about DME. DME is rapidly becoming a household name not only in high school girls basketball but also as a place where girls from other high school programs can develop and get exposure in their offseasons in AAU season as well.

DME Sports Academy High School National set the tone for Conference Play in a win against PotterHouse Christian Academy 81-61.

HS National started the game with a chip on their shoulder from the last time they saw PotterHouse that ended in a 7 point loss for DME.

Starting the game, DME went on a 6-1 run that left Potterhouse trailing by 9 points, 12-3. DME 7’1 Center Assane Diouf finished with 13 points, with a massive dunk in the first few minutes of the game.

Finishing up the first half, DME extended the lead to 22 points, 43-21. Senior guard Marko Vukojcic made his way into the starting line up with 10 of his 12 points in the first half.

Starting the second half, DME put their foot on the gas keeping the lead to 20 points. DME’s win was a team effort with 4 players scoring in double figures. Sophomore Mayoum Mayoum finished with 12 points, 4 assists, and 5 rebounds. Mame Niang led the team in scoring with 19 points, adding 9 rebounds, and 3 assists.

“Very pleased with our defensive effort. Everyone did their part. We are peaking, playing our best basketball right now,” Coach Dan expressed after the game.

With the SIAA Conference Tournament three weeks away and HS National 2nd in the conference, DME looks forward to their game against West Oaks this Friday at 6:00 pm in DME Sports Academy Grind Session Tournament. Following the Friday game, DME also plays Central Pointe High School Saturday at 3:00 pm.

DME Sports Academy Prep Orange defended their home court with a win over TSA 85-71 Monday afternoon.

Prep Orange started the game, fighting neck to neck with TSA and ended the first half down five points 36-31.

Coming into the second half, Damien Marquez scored 16 of his 26 points in the second, along with 6 rebounds.

Ralph Fabius finished with a double-double performance 19 points and 12 rebounds. Maxime Egouy contributed 10 points, 12 rebounds, and 2 blocks.

DME played with great poise and patience, finding their teammates on the floor. Jeshaun added 11 assists to the stat book this game.

DME suited up ready to make a statement after losing to TSA two weeks ago at home. Martial Gras also had a phenomenal game scoring 3 three-pointers in the last five minutes, extending the lead from 3 to a 12 point lead. Gras finished with 19 points and 3 rebounds.

“This game was a great team effort and confidence booster for our next game against IMG Academy,” Coach Bernie expressed after the game.

Prep Orange prepares to take the road to Bradenton, FL against IMG Academy. DME has won 3 out of the 4 games they have played in the last two weeks and looks forward to bettering their record against IMG. The game starts at 6:00 pm, followed by DME National at 7:30 pm.

DME Sports Academy Director of Global Marketing & Sales Momir Gajic announced the program promoted Wesam Alsous to the director of our Post Grad Program.

Wesam is a former Jordanian professional basketball player. He played for the Jordanian national basketball team for 14 years and served as it’s captain in 2014.

Wesam competed with the Jordanian team at six FIBA Asia Championships between 2005-2015. In 2010, Al-Sous helped the Jordanian team to play in the FIBA World Championship.

Wesam joined DME Sports Academy in October 2016. Coaching DME Post Grad Blue for two years, Wesam announced the replacement of DME PG White and Blue with DME Elite and DME National.

DME Elite made their first appearance together Monday against TSA with a victory of 59-37. DME National will suit up for their first game against IMG Academy tomorrow afternoon at 7:00 pm.

DME Volleyball took on a one day tourney in Tavares, FL on Sunday, with Adidas Elite 10, Local 15 and 16, and Adidas American 10, 12, 13O, 14S, and 14J. All teams played well, with great finishing from DME Adidas American 13U, that finished 4-1.

DME 13U played with an undefeated record before the championship game against Momentum Club 13.
DME 13U took on Momentum 13 at the Big House on Court 4 at 4:00 pm and finished with a 0-2 loss.

Despite the defeat, 13U took second place in the tournament, bringing home a trophy back to Daytona.

DME Adidas 10 Elite also had a great tournament finishing with a 3-1 record.

DME 10 Elite faced the same fate with playing with an undefeated record until playing Momentum 11 in the championship game.

DME 10E suited up at the Big House one Court 1 at 4:00 pm and came close but finished with a 0-2 defeat 18-25,15-25.

DME 10’s played hard and put up a fight, despite the fact that Momentum 11 was an older age group.

DME 10E took home second place in their bracket and parents and fans were very proud of how they performed and fought! DME 10E also brought back a trophy to DME Sports Academy.

DME Prep Orange suited up against Webber International University Sunday afternoon.

DME prevailed over Webber, 94-89, in an exciting ballgame that went into overtime with a half-court buzzer beater by Damien Marquez.

DME controlled the first half, creating a lead up to 10 points, but Webber International cut the lead to four at halftime.

Damien Marquez finished with 31 points, 3 assists, 4 rebounds, shooting 90% from the three-point line.

Ralph Fabius added a double-double 18 points, 15 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Maxime Egouy finished with 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals.

Starting the second half, Webber International took a seven-point lead and went on a 5-0 run. DME fought their way back into the game, with Marquez scoring two bigs 3-pointers to tie up the game in the last minute of the game. With the DME in possession of the ball and 0.

4 seconds on the clock, Marquez hit a half-court shot that sent the game into overtime.

Fighting from the start of overtime, DME placed a 6 point lead that Webber couldn’t break. DME took home a victory 94-89 back to Daytona Beach.

Ten of DME Volleyball teams, including Adidas Elite 12,13,14,15E,15J, 16, 17 and Adidas American 13R, 15, and 16 attended the Daytona 100 Tournament at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach this weekend.

All of the DME teams played very well, finishing with a 31-20 record as a whole. Three teams finished 1st – 3rd in their bracket, which two of the three finishing with a 4-1 record.

One of the outstanding teams this weekend was DME Adidas Elite 15U-Joe, who placed 1st in the Gold Bracket in USA Division. Elite 15U-J closed out two games in the championship against Nona Sports 15N finishing 2-0 (25-18,25-13).

DME Adidas Elite 15U-E also did well in the tourney with an undefeated record until the championship game. DME 15U suited up against UPONTOP 15’S Elite, finishing 1-2 (25-20,22-25,13-15).

Another team that did well was 12 Elite, who finished 3rd in the Gold bracket in 12 Club.

They started the first-day of the tournament to a great start, finishing 3-0.

Sunday at 10:00 AM, championship game, against Gainesville Jrs 12 Black Elite, was a tough great match for the 12 Elite. DME won the first game, 25-21, lost the second one, 27-29, and lost by two points in the third match 16-18.

DME Volleyball is back in the gym today, preparing for their next tournament. DME Adidas American teams take on the Gatorade VB Challenge Tournament, in Tavares, FL on February 4.

DME Girls headed to Jacksonville, Florida Wednesday afternoon to take on state powerhouse Ribault High School and came away with a victory 56-45.

Ribault has won the State Championship four out the past five years and has won a National Championship during that span.

DME winning on the road against Ribault as a first-year team with mostly sophomores and juniors was going to be a tough task. Alexis Duckett set the tone with 14 points in the first half, helping DME enter halftime with a nine-point lead. Duckett finished with a game-high 24 points and added 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.

Ribault cut the lead to two with four minutes left in the 4th quarter. DME finished the game on a 17-8 run to pull away with the victory. Tyla Happer scored 7 of her 12 points in the second half.

Kyani Moore had 8 points, 10 rebounds, before fouling out in the final minutes of the game.

DME moves to 10-7 on the season. DME is about to start on a difficult stretch where they play five games in six days. Four of the games are on the road, including a conference showdown with West Oaks and a road test against Wekiva High School.
