DME Academy’s Drezgic Brothers Commit to University of Georgia and University of Jacksonville

Daytona, FL – June 15, 2024 – DME Academy is thrilled to announce that Savo and Lazar Drezgic, two of our most promising basketball talents, will be committing to their respective universities this weekend. Savo Drezgic has officially committed to the University of Georgia on Friday, while his brother Lazar Drezgic has committed to the University of Jacksonville today Saturday, June 15th. 

Savo Drezgic, known for his exceptional skills, dedication, and leadership on the court, has decided to join the University of Georgia. His basketball journey has been nothing short of remarkable, having played for the EuroLeague men’s team Partizan at just 16 years old before coming to DME Academy. This experience has significantly shaped his game, preparing him for the challenges of collegiate basketball, and placed him as the 11th best player in the state of Florida in the ESPN rankings. 

Lazar Drezgic has committed to the University of Jacksonville. Lazar has demonstrated tremendous growth and potential during his time at DME Academy, making a significant impact on and off the court.

“We are incredibly proud of both Savo and Lazar for all that they have accomplished during their time at DME Academy,” said DME Academy’s Director of the Men’s Basketball Program, Matt Panaggio. “Savo and Lazar’s commitments to 2 great institutions are a testament to both of their hard work, perseverance, and talent. We are excited to watch both of their continued growth and success at the collegiate level.”

The Drezgic brothers’ commitments mark the 4th and 5th Division 1 commits from DME so far this season. Justin Redmond has committed to Northwestern State University, Moustapha Thiam has committed to the University of Central Florida (UCF), and Jaylen Robbinson has committed to the University of Richmond. These commitments highlight the exceptional talent and dedication within the DME Academy basketball program.
